FOR COFFEEHOLICS! 5 Tips to Design and Maximize Your Coffee Table

Humans are a unique species. We have a hierarchy of needs. In it says we need food, shelter, clothing, a sense of belonging, and love. It did not mention that we need a steady income, books, a stereo, television, and most importantly, coffee.

And most of us enjoy coffee while lounging in the living room. Don’t you?  Aside from downing coffee, we also like to read books or watch the telly. We need to be able to reach al the things we need to relax, without ruining the moment. That is why Urban Sales presents you with Five Tips to design and maximize your table.

1. Choose Your Table

Of course, before we go on and talk about how to design your coffee table, you must first choose a table. At Urban Sales, we have a lot to choose from because we are die-hard coffee addicts! But also because a lot of IKEA side tables look good and we are compelled to bring it to your home.

We start with the IKEA LACK. It looks like your normal, run-of-the-mill table because it is just that. Finished in white stained oak, it will look unassuming and won’t draw too much attention. But if you want to kick things up a notch, the SVALSTA nest of tables is a cute way to go. It has a mama table and a baby table underneath. If you’re alone, you can use just one; if you have guests you can use both for coffee mugs and board games for relaxation.

The IKEA STOCKHOLM says you want to stand out in the subtlest possible way. It is a table with a rattan top. Rattan is a raw material mostly found in Southeast Asia so you can be sure that your coffee table is understated, exotic, and every bit attractive.

Straight from the 2019 catalogue is the BURVIK. It might look unconventional but it will lend functionality and ease of transfer not commonly associated with side tables. With its handle, you can take it everywhere you go. Fancy going to the toilet and have a cuppa, or a glass of champagne? No problem, the BURVIK will transport anything you need with ease.

Let us help you find the right table.

2. Match it with a Rug

So you would like to relax? You can’t leave the room cold and barren. You have to add rugs to make the ambiance cozy and warm. For most applications, the IKEA LAPPJUNG RUTA will suffice. It’s properly large; the design pattern good.

Or you should want to have the STENLILLE if you want to keep things low-key. The LOHALS will bring you closer to nature. It will be nice to have Alamid coffee which is really from nature’s calling while you are piled up in cushions, sitting on the rug and enjoying your cuppa.

Feeling a bit adventurous? The IKEA OMEDELBAR is the right rug for obvious reasons.

3. Start with a Plant

We normally do not sell plants. Not real ones, anyway. But we have lots of plant pots because having a plant inside the house is so refreshing. For this to work, everything that’s too shiny is an automatic no-no. Glaring objects ruin what would otherwise be cozy lounging.

The IKEA DAIDAI is just the right amount of brass and the right amount of shiny. It would work best with white or black tables. If you have a table that’s finished in white-stained oak or pine, the GRADVIS is perfect for you. The HJARTELIG, however, is the perfect place to put your flowers from last night’s date.

4. Add Trays for Organization

Our New Arrivals included the IKEA SAXBORGA. This is the perfect organizer for your coffee table. IT comes with four jars so you can stock candies, bite-size chocolates, nuts, and more candy in each jar while having a nice and cozy afternoon. It also comes with a tray so you wouldn’t have trouble refilling them all at once in the pantry.

You can leave trays like the GLATTIS and SKALA to hold things like remote controls, spectacles, and small items so they won’t be scattered around the tale like pebbles on the beach.

5. Display a Collection

Here’s the fun part. After you are perfectly satisfied with your chosen table and elements, the last part is to leave your mark. Stack a collection of books, or arrange your favorite set of McDonald’s Happy Meals so it can be a fun space. If your table has an under-tray, you can store board games or LP records if you want to listen to Aretha Franklin while you have an Earl Grey in the morning.

If you want a coffee table that’s properly Scandinavian, little scented candles are the way to go. The thing to get is the IKEA FRISHKET and you pair it with this medieval looking HARLIGA glass dome. The FORKOTA, however, says that you love the classics yet are very modern.

What you do is totally up to you. Urban Sales is right here to help you pick out your coffee table and elements to make it not just yours, but to make it you.
