Parenting Tip #35: Organise the Closet
Having two babies and running a house is no small feat. Trust me, I know. The babies’ things seem to be everywhere and the closets seem to be messed up. So, how do we organize the babies’ stuff in an efficient way? With the help of the IKEA Team, a couple with a couple of toddlers need only spend less than NZD 200 to achieve an organised closet.
Megan and Don
Including the floor, Megan and Don has a 4-tiered closet. The shelves are quite generously spaced. This means that we can slot in a couple of OBSERVATOR clip-on baskets. With these, we can utilize more of the available vertical space. Speaking of which, the VARIERA shelf insert is also an efficient way to add a bit of storage organisation. These will make items easier to see and get what you need in a jiffy.
the Team
It would be good to have a spot for everything and make it neat and organized and functional.
Next in line are transparent containers such as SAMLA boxes and VARDAGEN jars. With these, items that aren’t used everyday - like Q-tips and toilet paper - can be easily surveyed if they need replenishing. This bit of storage helps save time and money because the baby stuff can be budgeted well.
Lastly, the team had gone with PLEJA baskets to store everyday items for the babies. They had this because if you have a baby on one hand, it will be difficult to get stuff with just one hand. So, they decided that the best way to do it is to grab a basket with everything the baby needs in it. Because, having two babies and running, organising, and keeping a house clean is no easy feat.
Now I want to do all my closets, and I’m getting great ideas about what I could do elsewhere.
