A Bedroom a Teenager would Love
Like most teenagers in a typical family, Malin grew up in her bedroom. That was her room since she was small. And like children, bedrooms will need to grow and evolve. Especially if the bedroom belongs to a girl.
Malin described her room, “It used to be grey walls and red everything. Now I love blue. Ocean blue – it feels like a lagoon.” No longer are their dolls or ponies on display. These days, she shows off the things she loves using LACK shelves and a KUNGSFORS magnetic knife rack.
Teenagers usually hang out in their bedrooms with their friends. A couple of IKEA SANDARED pouffes would be a cosy way to accommodate friends. Also, she uses her room to hang out with Stine, her older sister. Simply because she has a larger room.
Part of the responsibilities of being a teenager is doing your homework alone. To save on space but still reach for the things she needs with ease, Malin has a set of EKET wall cabinets to store her school stuff. To keep things organised in her desk, a KVISSLE letter tray sits atop.
“My study space isn’t just for school work. I also use it for myself, and the things that I want to do, like painting and scrapbooking.”
Before heading out, every teenage girl’s ritual is to check out whether she looks good. For that, the EKNE mirror will always keep you in check. You’ll see whether your eyebrows are okay or if your lips look too puffy. Malin also hat a stack of two KALLAX shelving units as additional storage for more books and more stuff. Because a budding woman has lots of stuff.
