Parenting 101: How to Make a Child’s Bedroom Fun for Learning with Storage Solutions

Children are unpredictable little critters. They have a penchant for crying, or messing things up if the slightest amount of boredom - or hunger - introduces itself. And then continue to be the cutest, most adorable angels you have ever seen when they are full or entertained. In order to make their life entertaining, and our parenthood more bearable, here are smart storage ideas for a child’s bedroom. It will add to the fun and help with keeping the mess at a minimum.

The first thing that a child will look for in a bedroom is a bed, of course. Having the MINNEN bed frame will cut your expenses for years to come. It is extendable so it can grow with your child. The only thing you will have to buy are mattresses.  Or a hack: extend it to the max and never change the mattress until your child has enough money to buy himself things - like a new bed.

Wardrobe woes will now be a thing of the past. A mixture of a tall, slim closet and an adorable drawer will be all the clothes storage you will need to organize a child’s wardrobe. The IKEA SOLIGUL wardrobe is tall enough to hang clothes that can’t be folded. It has a top shelf for their things that you don’t want them having without you knowing it. Meanwhile, the STUVA/FOLJA drawer will kep everyday clothes and underwear organised and at peace because it is unseen. Yet the drawer is so cute that it fits in a child’s bedroom so seamlessly.

Another layer of a smart storage is the FLISAT wall shelves. These are sturdy enough to hold bedtime story books that you do not want smudged with crayons. It can also house toys that aren’t meant for playing...yet. So displaying them on the shelf will both be protective and decorative.

Speaking of crayons, people are primitively artistic. We have art running in our blood. We learn to sing and babble melodies before we speak clearly. As babies, we respond to music more than we do with speech. We learn to doodle and draw before we could write our names. We learn to dance and be a slave to the rhythm even before we could walk. Which is why for such endeavors in the learning ladder, the SUNDVIK children’s table is going to be the artist’s table and stage. Partner it with the SUNDVIK chair so the both of you can learn in comfort. The FLISAT children’s stool is a worthy addition for the occasional tea party.
