Rattan: Every Room in Your House Must Have It!
Indonesia. It is where 70% of the world’s rattan production comes from. The remaining 30% are produced mostly by other Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. It can be used for clothing, medicine, and some species are even edible. But the most popular use of rattan is furniture. These Asian countries have a myriad of rattan furniture. And we bring it to you here with Urban Sales.
Rattan raw material
If you want to pull a trick and have a home that has authentic Asian touches, we have pieces to fit every room with this magnificent raw material.
Living Room
Adorn your living room with an ULRIKSBERG armchair across your sofa. It will be a welcome touch against the traditional fabric sofas. Then a GAMLEHULT footstool is awesome for those weekends where you sit around and just read books or watch games on the telly. It has a storage where you can place magazines, books, or remote controls. For an even cozier living room, these ALSEDA stools can be used as chairs, a side table or something you can just lump your body over when you are feeling a bit lazy. Storing and sorting things on shelves is now easier and more authentically stylish with BRANAS baskets tucked inside bookshelves.
Bed, Bath, & Beyond
That may well be the title of one of my favourite songs from Trey Songz. But these rattan goodies can be good for both the bedroom and bathroom. Dispose of your dirty laundry with the BRANAS laundry basket. Store seasonal clothes under the bed without damaging them with the ROMSKOG underbed storage case. Finally, if you wish to have books or magazines in your bedroom, the SNIDAD basket is a good way to keep them. It can also act as an organizer for putting dirty underwear if you are a bit OC about laundry organisation.
Kitchen & Dining
We are enamored with kitchen trolleys. We love the RASKOG so much that we have found different ways of using it just so we could have it everywhere in the house. And then came the LUBBAN trolley. It might not be as utilitarian as the beloved RASKOG, but what it lacks in function, it makes for in style. And it can probably pass as a living room side table with snacks. It will fit right in! The RASKOG in that position would stand out like a fully-dressed Eskimo on a beach. But we still love kitchen trolleys!
