The 2020 IKEA Catalogue is here! But aside from furniture and storage solutions, the Urban Captain is also interested in music and cars. This is because your friendly urban neighborhood - not named Spider-Man - is also human. Cars get updated from time to time. There are changes in the interior, on the body panels, and new paint colours. And then if you have an older version, you can consult the car catalogue to get new parts. Which is sort of what IKEA has in store for us. We have NEW COLORS of your favourite furniture, and genuinely new furniture. Here we are going to show you our Top 10 Picks from IKEA’s 2020 Catalogue.
Ten. NIKKEBY Collection
A different take on warm and fuzzy wood furniture, the NIKKEBY collection features a metallic, industrial, and utilitarian way to keep your wardrobe in check. We’ll start with the most attractive of the bunch: this blood red NIKKEBY clothes rack. A compact way to sort through shirts and it has got a little shelf to put a pair of shoes on. The NIKKEBY chest of 4 drawers takes some getting used to because of the way it looks. The good thing is you can paint it easily with a different shade to make it pop out or disappear in a room as you please. It is a nice place to place jewelry and underwear. It might even be where Superman keeps his trousers because it’s the chest of drawers of steel.

The versatile and trusty RASKOG trolley now comes in a shade that Hello Kitty fans will love. You still have the adjustable middle tier for taller objects, castors to place it wherever you want, albeit in a funky color. You can still have it in black, dark blue, or white.

IKEA still makes toys for children to train them for the real world. The DUKTIG play kitchen makes a return for 2020 together with the SPISIG kitchen with curtains to make kids their own modular kitchen. Of course, the training would not be complete without a pretend pizza, pretend fruits and vegetables, and pretend pastries.
Seven. The Recliner
Everybody needs this in their lives. The EKOLSUND reclining chair has soft edges to instantly make you feel comfortable. It can also be fir in tight spaces. So, should you decide to sit up, recline while reading or watching a movie, or just totally lie back and take a nap is up to you. It can even come with a his and hers with a grey and pink ones available.

IKEA has tested it and it is water resistant, scratch proof, oil resistant, and resistant to bumps and heat.
Three. VITVAL Loft Bed frame
This is for the kid who will be a teenager in 2020. Or for the urban dweller who lives by her lonesome and just needs more floor space for more important stuff. The light grey shade means it can be put anywhere in any room color and it will be in place. Ideas to put below the loft include a loveseat, chest of drawers, a tiny work desk, or another mattress.
Two. SLATTUM bed frame
It is raised slightly to fit under bed storage solutions like boxes and bags. A bit conventional but it serves its purpose.
One More. Rattan Collection
We are suckers for natural fibers. We wouldn’t think twice of having furniture made from Rattan or Bamboo grace our homes. Let us start with the most important stuff: the GRONADAL rocking chair and the GAMLEHULT footstool. It is a new product but it looks like it belongs to our grandparents two generations ago. And for that reason alone, I love it. Plus I know that it will instantly lull me to sleep without even trying.
Next is a trio of armchairs called ULRIKSBERG, BUKSBO, and INDUSTRIELL. Rattan is a comfortable material because of the way it flexes when given a load. Add to that the extra width of these new armchairs and you have something that could hold a conversation for hours and hours. But if you are to do that, you need coffee or tea. And maybe some snacks. What better furniture to carry that but the LUBBAN trolley table. It has wheels so if you ever run out of snacks and coffee, it will be easy top up all at once.
